September 16, 2013NEW ORLEANS -- After setting single-game career-highs in both completions (43) and attempts (68) in ULM's 21-19 win at Wake Forest, senior quarterback Kolton Browning has been named the Sun Belt Conference's Offensive Player of the Week.
Midway through the second quarter, Browning connected with Je'Ron Hamm for his school-record 796th career completion. Browning took the top spot in the ULM record book as he passed Steven Jyles who tallied 795 career completions from 2002-05.
Browning ended Saturday's game with 827 career completions after finishing 43-of-68 for 315 yards and three touchdowns. The Mabank, Texas native found Harley Scioneaux, Kenzee Jackson and Tavarese Maye for the three Warhawk scores. Browning also rushed 9 times for 19 yards in ULM's first-ever win over an ACC program.
ULM will return to the gridiron Saturday as it travels to Waco, Texas for a 3 p.m. kickoff at Baylor. The contest between the Warhawks and the Bears will air on Fox Sports 1.
