Bulldogs beat down 86-52
ULM Warhawks opened the home portion of their 2013-14 schedule by hosting Samford inside Fant-Ewing.After a strong showing at #5/6 Kansas to open the season, the
The Warhawks didn't act as very accommodating host, as they scorched the nets for 50% shooting to coast for an 86-52 win.
"I thought two things really happened that helped us," Head Coach Keith Richard said post game. "We really wanted to run them off the three point line. That was a big point of emphasis for us, and they only had four attempts in the first half. Part of doing this led to turnovers."
Leading the ULM domination was Senior Amos Olatayo with a game high 22 in just 25 minutes of action. Other Warhawks in double-digit scoring were Jayon James and Tylor Ongwae both with 14. James was just one rebound short of a double-double. Hot outside shooting by Daniel Grieves saw him end with a career high 13.
The Warhawks will have a short turnaround, as they travel to face former Southland conference foe Northwestern State (2-1) on Thursday night, while Samford continues their six game road swing by traveling to East Tennessee State.
