From the ULM Sports Information office

MONROE, La. - ULM junior guard Amos Olatayo was rewarded for a successful week by being named the Louisiana Sports
Writers Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.  Olatayo becomes the first ULM player to earn LSWA honors since Lawrence Gilbert did so in 2010.

Olatayo averaged 20.5 points and 6.0 rebounds in two games this past week, including a career-high 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting on Saturday against Middle Tennessee. Olatayo scored 17 points in the second half against the Blue Raiders to help lead the Warhawks come back from a 15-point deficit at halftime to within two midway through the second half.

The Alief, Texas, native began the week with 17 points and eight rebounds in 27 minutes off the bench at Troy on Thursday. Olatayo has now scored at least 17 points in four straight games and he leads the team in scoring with 14.6 points per game.
