ULM falls to Tulane in home opener
After opening the 2012-13 season with a road loss to Stephen F Austin, the ULM women's basketball team looked to notch their first win on their home court in Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The Tulane Green Wav e (2-0) had different plans and used a 13-0 run in the first half to down the Warhawks 70 - 60 on Monday night.
The Green Wave and Warhawks remained close through the first ten minutes, with ULM even building a three point lead before the big Tulane run that was finally halted by back-to-back three pointers by Jae Shin, pulling ULM back to within seven.
ULM was able to cut the Tulane lead to just eight early in the second half, but struggled to capitalize on Tulane's season high 23 turnovers and struggled on the boards, with the Green Wave winning the battle by a 42-29 margin.
New career highs were set by Jae Shin with 14 points, surpassing her previous high of five and Alayshia Hunter with 10, passing her prior high of four.
The Warhawks hit the road again, traveling to Thibodaux, La. to face former Southland Conference foe Nicholls State (1-1) on Friday, November 16. Tip-off is set for 6pm.
