Big southpaw impresses at Elite 11
At the Elite 11 in Fort Worth, numerous top-notch quarterbacks showed off what they could do.
It comes as no surprise that there were plenty of talented gunslingers as the state of Texas is definitely known for producing quality signal-callers.
However, what comes as a surprise is that one of the top quarterbacks in attendance wasn't even from the state of Texas.
That quarterback is Groton (MA) Lawrence Academy's Charley Loeb.
Loeb showed very nice accuracy at the camp, but it was tough for anyone to compete with the show that San Antonio (Texas) Alamo Heights' Drew Allen put on.
While the 6-foot-4, 210-pound Loeb is from the north, he himself is actually a southpaw.
The talented lefty felt good about his performance on Saturday especially because the weather up north has limited the amount he has been able to practice.
"I played great. I haven't been able to throw the ball as much as I'd like to because of the weather up there, but for the most part it felt good," Loeb said.
He's just starting on his own little tour to get his name out there and has a couple more stops to make.
"This is the first stop. The next stop is over at Alabama. I might be doing a combine there too. Then I'm going up to Penn State the week after that for a combine there," Loeb said.
Loeb definitely impressed on his first stop as he threw a really nice ball and was one of the most physically impressive kids at the camp.
Several schools have already taken notice of the talented quarterback.
"I've been getting mail from Boston College, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Notre Dame," Loeb said.
