Browning named LSWA Offensive Player of Week

BATON ROUGE, La. -- ULM quarterback Kolton Browning has been named the Louisiana Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week, the Louisiana Sports Writers Association announced Monday afternoon.

Browning tallied 329 yards of total offense in the Warhawks 21-20 victory over Southeastern Louisiana this past Saturday. The redshirt freshman signal caller lit up the skies for 249 yards and a pair of touchdown strikes after completing 23-of-34 pass attempts. He also finished with 75 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
 
The Mabank, Texas, native led the Warhawks in rushing for the second straight game marking the first time since 2004 that a ULM quarterback led the team on the ground in back-to-back games.
 
Browning has totaled 679 yards of total offense the past two weeks to vault up the national and Sun Belt Conference rankings. He enters ULM's game at No. 10 Auburn this weekend 32nd in the NCAA and third in the Sun Belt in total offense (257.7).
 
The Warhawks and Tigers square off at 11 a.m. Saturday in a game televised live by ESPNU.
