Coppola picks up preseason honor
MONROE, La. – College Sports Madness announced its Men’s Basketball All-Sun Belt Conference Preseason team on Monday and ULM senior Nick Coppola was named to the Second-Team. Coppola, from Richmond Va., has started every game in his career and averaged a personal best 36.8 mins per game last season which was tops in the Sun Belt.
He also broke the ULM career assists mark during last season with 409 for his career. Coppola finished third in the SBC in both assists (5.3 apg) and assist to turnover ratio (2.5) last season. He averaged 10.9 points per game and notched 19 double-figure scoring games in 2015-16.
ULM begins the year with an exhibition game at home on Monday, Nov. 7 at 7:00 p.m. against Louisiana College before the Warhawks open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 11 at 1:00 p.m. when they host Centenary.
