ULM announces six newcomers

MONROE, La. - ULM men's basketball head coach Keith Richard announced today (July 7) the addition of six players to the ULM program for the upcoming 2010-11 season. The Warhawks welcome four freshmen, Ife Eke, Marcelis Hansberry, Steven McClellen and R.J. McCray, a junior college transfer, Christian Bibi Ndongo, and a four-year school transfer, Charles Winborne, into the ULM family.
"I am excited about the six newcomers joining our program," said Richard. "I believe these young men will establish a strong base for our program, both on and off the floor, for years to come."

Eke a 6-foot-7 forward, from Jackson, Miss., attended Northwest Rankin High School, where he averaged 10 points and 10 rebounds per game during his senior season. Eke earned all-district honors during his senior year of high school.
Hansberry is a 6-foot guard from Jackson, Miss., where he attended Provine High School. As a senior with the Rams, Hansberry scored 15 points per game and dished out five assists per contest while earning all-metro team honors while leading Provine to a runner-up finish in the Mississippi 5A State Tournament.
McClellen comes to Monroe from Fresno, Calif., where he prepped at Edison High School. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds per game as a senior while earning First Team All-Valley honors from the Fresno Bee.
McCray is a native of Arlington, Texas, where he attended Grace Prep Academy. A 6-foot-2 guard, McCray averaged 13 points and five assists per game and earned 4A All-State Second Team recognition from the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools.
Bibi Ndongo, a 6-foot-9 post player, originally from Cameroon, attended Calvary Christian High School in Clearwater, Fla., before going on to John Wood Community College in Quincy, Ill. He comes to ULM with two remaining seasons of eligibility.
Winborne, a native of Shreveport, La., attended Loyola University Chicago last season. The 6-foot guard was named Louisiana Class 2AA Player of the Year as a high school senior at Loyola College Prep in Shreveport in 2008-09, when he averaged 27 points and three assists per game. Winborne will sit out the 2010-11 season following his transfer and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
