The ULM Warhawks shored up the offensive line over the weekend with the addition of Cisco College offensive lineman Rey Baltazar. The 6'6, 305 offensive tackle will sign in the early signing period, and report to the Monroe, La. campus for January to take part in spring drills.

"They have a really solid campus and good academics," he said. "I saw the close bond the players have with one another and it was something that I want to be a part of."
Baltazar had offers from Central Arkansas, Northwestern State, Nicholls State, and McNeese, but his only visit to a college campus was to ULM. While on campus, he met with offensive coordinator Steve Farmer. The two went over the offensive calls and what his role will be.
"Coach Farmer said that I have a chance to come in right away and compete for a starting role. My strength is pass blocking, but they said the focus for this season will be on running the ball more. They said they felt they abandoned the running game and know they need to get back to doing it."
The commitment to ULM is the second recruiting commitment for the Marble Falls, Texas native. After high school, he signed with FCS powerhouse Sam Houston State. After a short time there though, he knew that he was an FBS talent and transferred to Blinn Community College. After spending one year with the Buccaneers, he followed offensive line coach Jamaal Lewis to Cisco College.
