Darrell McNeal
Position: Receiver/Quarterback
Classification: Senior
Prep credentials: Two time 4A all-state selection and all-district
Offensive MVP for Neville High School in Monroe, La.  Rushed for 19
touchdowns, 891 yards, on 147 touches.  Also passed for four scores and
caught two more.
2008 stats: 51 receptions for 558 yards and four receiving scores.
Also scored four times running the ball in the Warhawk formation, while passing
for one.  The four rushing scores were the most by a receiver in ULM
history.
2008 Honors: None
Career stats: 130 receptions, 1,336 yards, 10 TDs; 47 rushing
attempts, 128 yards and five scores.
Best game in 2008: Against Middle Tennessee, McNeal set a new career
high, as he hauled in 10 catches for 84 yards.  The 10 receptions was good
for 6th place all-time in Warhawk history.
Scouting Report: A three way player for the Warhawks, McNeal can do it
all, and do it well.  McNeal will get a fair share of playing time at the
receiver position, where his speed and possession hands make him a threat, and
will get some snaps in the Warhawk formation to show his speed and quickness at
the quarterback position.
The big hope… McNeal is looking to move up higher in the ULM history
books this season, as he needs two touchdown receptions and 427 receiving yards to
break into the top 10 in career receiving yardage and scoring.  McNeal
needs just 17 receptions to move into the top five all-time in receptions.
The big worry… After serving a suspension through the spring and
summer for a violation of team rules, McNeal will have to work extra hard to get
back into playing shape.  Through the fall camp, he has looked good at
times, but still has some more catching up to do to be even with his teammates.
