Moore does it all

A well rounded player. These are the words that best summarize Bullard, Tx. athlete Charlie Moore. Moore was named district offensive co-MVP last season at QB, while being named to the Texas Sports Writer's honorable mention 3A All-State team as a safety. In addition to his great performances on the gridiron, Charlie also starts in centerfield for baseball, and also leads his team with a team record 45-5.50 meter jump in the triple jump.

Beyond his on the field accomplishments, Charlie is still able to maintain a 4.74 GPA, having taken honors classes, and scoring a 1600 on the SAT; ranking him fifth in his class. A joke about his 4.55 40-yard time matching his GPA got a rise from Moore, "I don't think if they matched I would be in the top 10 of recruiting anymore."

At the next level, Charlie doesn't have a preference of what position he plays. "Most schools have said that I would sign as a QB/Athlete and then adjust from there, but it really doesn't matter where I play, I just want to get out there and play." Bullard Head Coach Jim Taylor echoed this saying, "He's eager to play, but his only desire is to play at the next level. One of his strongest points is that he doesn't think about himself, just where he can play and help the team."

Undecided on major, he's focused on his education. "Education is the key." Charlie's accomplishments on and off the field have led to interest from Baylor and Rice, while getting an offer from the Warhawks of ULM. Taylor added, "Whoever gets him will be getting a strong person athletically and academically."

This summer he has attended camps all over Texas, including stops at Rice, UTEP, Houston, Baylor, and Texas State, and ventured to Louisiana for camps with La. Tech and ULM. The Baton Rouge Nike camp also played host to him. In addition to camps, he's been training to improve his 40-yard time into the 4.4 range; something that he believes that he would help him with all of his activities.
