Red hot Red Wolves shoot past ULM

Fresh off their home win on Thursday night against North Texas, the Warhawks continued their home stand, hosting Arkansas State. ULM took an early 2-0 lead, but the hot shooting of the Red Wolves was too much as the western division leaders from Arkansas State took a 87 - 54 Saturday afternoon tilt.
Trent Mackey connected on a long field goal just seconds into the game, giving the Warhawks a modest 2-0 lead from there, the Red Wolves were red hot, shooting 50% from beyond the three-point arch and 54.2% from the floor as Trey Finn led his team with 17 first half points.

ULM battled back from Arkansas State's 21-0 run to start the game with a 26-6 run in the later part of the first half. Leading the charge during the Warhawk run was Amos Olatayo , who finished the half with 14 points, a team high. Olatayo was held to just seven points in the closing half.
The Red Wolves continued to pour on the offense in the second half, as Finn led four in double-digit scoring. Included in the Arkansas State scoring was the double-double by Brandon Peterson.
The Warhawks will now hit the road for their final regular season road trip, traveling to Murfreesburo, Tenn. for a Thursday night game at WKU and closing out the week at Middle Tennessee.
