Warhawks land three

MONROE, La.-ULM football head coach Todd Berry announced the signing of junior college transfers Dan Jackson, Jordan Karriman and Ryan McCaul to National Letters of Intent on Monday.

The trio will enroll at ULM in the spring semester, which begins Jan. 19, and will participate in spring practice. Jackson, a defensive back, joins the Warhawks from Trinity Valley Community College, while Karriman and McCaul were on the same offensive line at Northeast Oklahoma A&M College.

"We are excited to have these young men join our program," Berry said. "They are all mature football players that we feel will be able to come in and help our team right away. All three of them come from good junior college programs where they were well coached."

A two-time all-conference selection for Trinity, Jackson is slotted to come in a play the hawk position for the Warhawks. The Mansfield, Texas, native totaled 50 tackles for the Cardinals as a sophomore and 62 tackles with a pair of interceptions as a freshman. The 5-11, 205-pound Jackson played linebacker in his two seasons at Trinity Valley.

Karriman and McCaul were both all-conference selections as sophomores at Northeast Oklahoma A&M where the pair helped pave the way for Da'Sor Horton to rush for a conference best 1,072 yards and 17 touchdowns. The Norsemen also had the league's fourth best passing attack thanks in part to Karriman and McCaul's efforts up front.

In addition to all-conference honors, Karriman was named the top offensive lineman in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference in 2009. The 6-5, 305-pound native of Grove, Okla., helped lead Grove High School to the Oklahoma 5A State Championship Game as a senior in 2007.

Moore was named to the JCFootball.com Preseason All-American Team prior to the 2009 season. The 6-5, 295-pound native of Moore, Okla., was an all-conference and all-state selection for Moore High School in 2007.

National Signing Day for high school student-athletes is Wednesday, Feb. 3.
