Winn hungry for goals

Last season the Franklin Parish Patriots had the difficult task of replacing eight players from the previous year. One big forward to step up and take on this opportunity was 6'6" Tyrell Winn.
"I try to do a lot for my team," Winn said.

Winn did do a lot for the Patriots last season as he poured in 12 points per game, 10 assists, and seven rebounds helping him to land honorable mention all-district honors for 4A-3 and lead his team to victory over 2A state runner-up Vidalia for the first time in three seasons.
"We lost some games that we shouldn't have last year, but it just makes me hungrier for my goals this season to win district and make it to the Top 28," Winn said.
Winn has been hard at work throughout the off season to ensure his goals are met. In addition to attending camps at Louisiana Tech and Northwestern State, Winn has been a leader this summer in off season conditioning drills. This has caught the attention of Head Coach Wystee Kerry.
"He's always the first in the gym, and the last one out," Kerry said. "He's been such a great leader and key part of our summer training and conditioning program. He's been working hard in the gym, the weight room, and working hard in the classroom."
His hard work on and off the court has already landed him several Junior College offers, including from Hill College in Texas and Baton Rouge Community college. Despite these offers, Winn continues to work hard in hopes of getting bigger offers.
"I love rebounding, so I think that would be a big thing that I can offer a team at the next level," he said. "I just know that with another good season and more hard work, when a college gives me an opportunity, I'll take it, and they will not regret it."
