MONROE, La. – The Sun Belt Conference announced the 2023-24 women’s basketball schedule on Tuesday, Aug. 8.
ULM’s 18-game league schedule is comprised of six home-and-home series against South Alabama, Texas State, Arkansas State, Troy and the Ragin’ Cajuns. The Warhawks’ slate also features home games against James Madison, Coastal Carolina and Marshall along with road trips to Georgia State, Georgia Southern and App State. ULM won’t face Old Dominion during the regular season.
The Warhawks will play a total of eight contests against league opponents, who won at least 20 games a year ago.
“It's an exciting time to be part of the Sun Belt Conference in women’s basketball,” first-year ULM head coach Missy Bilderback said. “There’s tremendous talent and great coaches in this league, which makes it very competitive with parity throughout. Obviously, opening conference play with defending champion JMU at home highlights the schedule. Our team is looking forward to the opportunity this schedule presents and the high level of competition in the Sun Belt.”
ULM opens its 18th season of Sun Belt competition in Fant-Ewing Coliseum on Dec. 30 against James Madison, which finished in a three-way tie for first in the regular-season standings and won the conference postseason championship.
The Warhawks open the New Year with back-to-back road games at Georgia State (Jan. 4) and Georgia Southern (Jan. 6).
ULM will play six of its next eight conference games in Fant-Ewing Coliseum, beginning with a home series against South Alabama (Jan. 11) and Texas State (Jan. 13). A road swing to Louisiana Lafayette (Jan. 18) and Southern Miss (Jan. 20) is sandwiched between consecutive home series against Arkansas State (Jan. 25) and Coastal Carolina (Jan. 27), followed by Troy (Feb. 1) and the Ragin’ Cajuns (Feb. 3).
The Warhawks will play their next four games on the road, including a non-conference game as part of the Mid-American-Sun Belt Challenge. ULM continues league play with a trip to App State on Feb. 3, followed by a road trip to a MAC opponent (to be determined by the January NET rankings) on Feb. 10. The Warhawks complete that stretch with a road series at South Alabama (Feb. 15) and Troy (Feb. 17).
ULM closes out the 2023-24 Sun Belt regular season with a home series against Southern Miss (Feb. 22) and Marshall (Feb. 24), followed by a pair of road games at Arkansas State (Feb. 27) and Texas State (March 1).
The 2024 Sun Belt Conference Championship returns to Pensacola, Florida, from March 5-11.
The Warhawks’ complete non-conference schedule will be announced shortly.
